The business activity index of the Uzbek industrial sector, calculated by the Antimonopoly Policy Improvement Center under the State Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic, decreased by 4.5 points to 64.6 points in July 2012 compared to June, the Committee's website reported on Tuesday.
It was previously reported that the rate forecast as of July was 66.9 points.
Despite the overall decline, a significant growth of index rates was recorded in some sectors, the report said.
The business activity index increased by 6.6 points in machine building and in electrical industry in July, while in information technologies - by 15 points.
According to the analysts of the center, forecast growth index for August 2012 is 71.1 points. This stipulates moderate optimistic expectations of businessmen.
The index of business activity of the industrial sector is calculated on the basis of survey of 100 large and medium-sized industrial enterprises.
The index is calculated on the basis of five key indices, such as new orders, production and sales, employment and the remains of the finished products.
