Inflation in Iran rises, so do prices on goods

Inflation is Iran is rising up, according to a report of country's Statistics committee, Tabnak newspaper reported.

The report submitted to Iran's parliament says the inflation in the country has risen up to 26,2 percent in July 2012.

The report says prices for foodstuffs have increased by 44,8 percent in July 2012, compared to the same period of last year.

With regard to the month on month increase in prices, the report says prices for bread has increased by 10,2 percent since June 2012, milk, cheese and eggs increased by 8 percent, and fruits increased by 6,5 percent.

Regarding other services, the committee's report says housing prices, prices on water, electricity and gas have increased by 47,7 percent in July 2012 compared to the same period of last year.

Same increase for the same period of time has been seen in sphere of medicine and healthcare (14,5 percent increase compared to last year's July), and other goods and services (14,3 percent increase compared to last year's July).

It should be noted that the Central Bank if Iran has reported that the inflation rate in the country stood at 22,9 percent in July, while the country's Statistics committee's report claims a 26,2 rate.
