Iran is one of the top 10 producers of shoes in the world with an annual production capacity of 262.5 million pairs of shoes, an official with the industry, mine and trade department stated.
Mehdi Eslampanah told the YJC website that some 8500 shoe production units are currently operating nationwide.
Iran's shoe production capacity is less than Pakistan's, but more than Turkey's in the region, he noted.
