Baku Metro plans to carry out in 2013 the reconstruction of one of the three stations - Sahil, Nizami or Khatai, Deputy Chief of Baku Metro Arif Rasulov told reporters on Monday.
"We are now choosing the station to be reconstructed in 2013. This will be one of the old stations - Sahil, Nizami or Khatai," Rasulov said.
He said that by September 15 the first exit of the 28 May station, previously closed for reconstruction, will be commissioned.
"Baku Metro will commission the updated exit as scheduled. At station's this exit number of escalators is increased from three to four (two with width of one meter, two - 80 centimeters)," Rasulov said.
He said work is now ongoing on reconstruction of the outer part of the exit.
"This station is of particular importance as it is one of the busiest. It is used by an average of 60,000-65,000 people a day," Rasulov added.
