Transactions on Azerbaijan’s current transfers hit $1.8 bln

The total cost of transactions on current transfers carried out by Azerbaijan and foreign countries amounted to $1.8 billion as of the first six months, of which 46.7 percent fall to the country's revenues, the balance of payments, published on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said today.

Around 93.2 percent of the total income on the current transfers falls to money transfer of foreign physical entities, two percent - the cost of humanitarian goods imported into the country, 4.8 percent - other income. In general, the surplus on current transfers amounted to $119.9 million.

According to the balance of payments, the total turnover of payments and revenues during January - June 2012 amounted to $3.5 billion, of which 83.8 percent ($2.9 billion) fell to Azerbaijan's payment.
