Azerbaijani banks repay $471 mln of foreign loans in first half

After the first half of 2012, the share of direct government and government-guaranteed loans and loans raised by banks amounted to 43.4 percent of the total volume of foreign capital, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said on Wednesday.

The total amount of funds raised in the form of loans and investments amounted to $1.913.4 billion, which is 4.4 percent less than the same period of 2011.

Some 43.2 percent ($451.5 million) of loans was raised directly by the state and under the state guarantee. The share of unsecured loans was $593.3 (56.8 percent).

Of unsecured loans, some $502.5 million was raised by banks, $90.8 million - by other enterprises and companies.

Of the total amount of loans raised earlier some $1.133.5 billion was returned.
