Azerbaijani bank ups loan portfolio by 22 percent

Azerbaijani Access Bank's assets increased by 18.2 percent in January - August of this year and hit 461.53 million manat, the bank told Trend today.

As of January - August 2012, the deposit portfolio of Azerbaijani Access Bank increased by 11.6 percent and amounted to 135.9 million manat, physical entities' deposits accounted for 116.67 million manat, increasing by 7.7 percent.

The loan portfolio of the bank during the reporting period increased by 21.9 percent and hit 360.12 million manat, including loans to physical entities - 41.28 million manat (increasing by 35.4 percent).

The total amount of the bank's expenditure for the first eight months of this year amounted to 52.4 million manat, income - 65.16 million manat, net profit - 10.88 million manat.

The authorized capital of the bank in January - August 2012 amounted to 85 million manat, increasing by 25.4 percent, total capital increased by 8.6 percent and hit 98.06 million manat.

The bank's reserves totaled 9.59 million manat for the first eight months of this year, increasing by 17.4 percent, investments in securities amounted to 1.5 million manat.

The number of active cards for the period increased by 5.3 percent to 20,565 units, the number of ATMs was 36 (increased by 5 since 2012), POS-terminals - 70 (increased by 12 units), branches - 33.

The bank's strategy is focused on small and medium entrepreneurship. The bank renders a full range of financial services meeting the needs of customers.

The Azerbaijani Micro-Finance Bank began working in Baku on October 29, 2002.
On September 8, 2008 the bank changed its name to AccessBank. The bank's shareholders are the European Reconstruction and Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and the German Development Bank KfW (20 percent each), Access Microfinance Holding (16.53 percent), LFS Financial Systems (3.47 percent).

Official exchange rate is 0.7853 AZN/USD on Sept. 15.
