Bahmani: Iranian Central Bank canot lower foreign currency prices

Iranian Central Bank Governor Mahmoud Bahmani has said the bank cannot lower foreign currency prices continuously.

Foreign currency prices have unexpectedly risen during the past week in Iran, so that the U.S. dollar exceeded 26,000 rials in unofficial market.

According to the Mesghal website, the U.S. dollar was trade at 23,880 rials on Friday.

Some people are reaping illegal profits from economic renting, he said, adding that the Central Bank is after removing such rentiers.

According to him, the official rate for the U.S. dollar will remain at 12,260 rials.
