Stimulating financing and attracting investments in the hotel construction in Azerbaijan will be one of the factors for the development of the tourism market, director general of the HVS Executive Search company's Moscow office Tatiana Veller said.
HVS is the world's leading consulting company operating in the hotel industry, restaurants, casino and entertainment.
"All the countries of the former Soviet Union have similar problems with the tourism market," she said. "There are complex procedures for issuing visas, bureaucracy and financing. Despite there are a lot of rich people, one can not build all hotels using own money."
She said that the hotels are mainly constructed worldwide on borrowed money - at the expense of local banks, development banks, international funds.
"It is necessary to simplify visa procedures, implement the projects of national co-financing to develop the market," she said. "The state agencies must engage in promoting the region."
