The agreement was reached to resume "Maimak" railway station's activity in the Talas region following the negotiations between the Kyrgyz and Kazakh customs and border services on September 21, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government said today with reference to the State Customs Service under the Kyrgyz Government.

The transportation of goods from Kazakhstan through the station "Maimak", which is located at the junction of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, was ceased since early August.

"Maimak" station is the only railway junction in the Talas region, through which cargo is transported via the railway.

It should be stressed that the Kazakh side promoted a positive outcome of the negotiations on the resumption of the railway station's activity.

At present, the Kyrgyz and Kazakh Customs Services with the assistance of local authorities are considering the measures to create temporary technological scheme of cooperation necessary to resume the "Maimak" railway station's activity from Sept. 21, 2012.
