The number of registered companies has dropped by 6.1 percent compared to the previous month in Turkey, the Turkish Union of Chambers said on Friday on its official website.
Moreover, the number of trade companies established in August has dropped by 40 percent, cooperatives- by 6.2 percent.
The total number of companies closed down within this period has dropped to 30.49 percent, the number of closed trade companies- by 36.95 percent, cooperatives- by 25.3 percent, compared to the previous month.
In comparison with August of 2011 the total number of registered companies dropped by 37.91 percent, trade companies- by 19.33 percent, cooperatives- by 6.9 percent.
According to the report, the number of closed down companies rose by 0.67 percent within the year, the number of trade companies dropped by 7.75 percent, cooperatives- 31.18 percent.
