Some 41.6 million Iranians have been identified as liable to receive Justice Shares, the IRIB quoted the Iranian Privatisation Organisation's head Mohammad-Rahim Ahmadvand as saying on Monday.

Considering that each stock certificate is worth 10 million rials (about $816), the total justice shares are valued at around $34 million, he added.

On November 12, 2006, the Iranian cabinet approved a law for increasing Iranian households' wealth through expanding the cooperative sector's share on the basis of the Justice Shares Distribution Scheme.

Under the present interpretation of Article 44 of Iran's Constitution, hundreds of state owned companies have been privatised with some of the shares being earmarked for distribution among 'the deprived' classes, such as farmers and workers.

In the first phase, Justice Shares were distributed among 23 million villagers and many rural workers have benefited under this scheme, according to Press TV.
