Iran imports $26 billion worth of non-oil goods

Iran has imported 26 billion dollars worth of non-oil goods in the first six months of current Iranian calendar year, which began March 20, the head of Arabian-African Commercial Office for Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Seyyed Hossein Hosseini said on Wednesday, Mehr News Agency reported.

The value of Iran's non-oil goods (excluding gas condensates) exports also stood at 21 billion dollars in the first six months of current calendar year, Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Hamid Safdel said on October 21, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran's non-oil exports (including gas condensates) value in an 8-year period is projected to exceed 25 billion dollars by the end of May 2013, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari said on October 19.

Iran exported over 21 billion dollars worth of gas condensates in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began March 20, the IRNA news agency quoted Ghazanfari as saying.

The amount shows 30 percent increase compared to the same period previous year.

An official with the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Alireza Pourbasir earlier this month said that the exports of processed goods from Iran is projected to hit $340 million in the current Iranian calendar year, which ends on March 20, 2013, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Pourbasir added that the value of exported goods stood at $265 million last year.
