Illegitimate and motivated by political background actions in the port of Poti on the Black Sea coast of Georgia has a negative impact on the business development and the image of the country, president of the International Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, Arabian businessman Fadi Asli said.

Poti port is a point linking the Caucasus and Central Asia, that can not be paralyzed by some persons, through the manipulation of misleading workers, Asli said in a briefing on Friday.

"The International Chamber of Commerce supports the legitimate rights of the workers, but the performances that are not legitimate and are motivated by political background, have a negative impact on the development of business and the country's image. Accordingly, the Chamber urges prosecutors to immediately investigate and establish the identity of those who initiated these adverse events," he said.

"In the last few weeks Georgia faced a wave of strikes in the business sector in different regions, the aim of which is to destabilize the country and damage the new leadership," Asli said.

He added that the strike paralyzed the city, which is the main point of the country and the region.
