Iranian parliament (Majlis) speaker Ali Larijani said that people-oriented economy will remove the unemployment problem, IRNA reported on Sunday.
On October 22, the Mehr News Agency quoted the Director of Statistical Center of Iran Adel Azar as saying that Iran's unemployment rate dropped by about one percent in summer from 12.9 percent in spring.
Due to the expansion of agricultural and building activities in summer, the unemployment rate usually falls in summer each year, he said.
Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami said that the unemployment rate is planned to be cut to seven percent by the end of the fifth socio-economic development plan (March 2016).
By that time, 5.5 million new jobs should be created, he noted.
According to Sheikholeslami, Iran's High Council of Employment approved allocation of 45 trillion rials (some $37 billion) to job creation in the current calendar year.
