Industrial production index increases in Turkey

The industrial production index (IPI) in Turkey increased by 6.2 percent in September 2012 and hit 120 points compared to the same month in 2011, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in a report posted on its website today.
In September, the IPI increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous month.
The IPI in mining operations in Turkey increased by 10.8 per cent in September, while in processing industry decreased by 6 per cent and in production and distribution - by 4.1 percent.
The highest rate of the index was observed in energy sector. In September, it increased by 11 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
