There are significant opportunities for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE given the level of development of energy sector in Azerbaijan and potential for development of food sector, as well as a strong infrastructure of Dubai, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce Hamad Buamim said at the joint business forum, which is underway in Baku on Wednesday.
He said great potential for cooperation exists in areas such as financial services, tourism, transport and logistics, food sector and industry.
"We are pleased to share our experience in these spheres, particularly in the tourism, transport and logistics. Also we are ready to share our experience in the field of Islamic financing," Buamim said.
At the business forum it was also announced about opening of a representative office of Dubai Chamber of Commerce in Baku, which became the only office of the Chamber abroad.
The business forum is being attended by over 30 entrepreneurs from the UAE, including representatives of Al Shafar General Contracting Co, Al Serkal Group, Fly Dubai, Earth Developer, Bin Hendi Group, Al Islami Foods, GMP, and others, as well as more than 140 Azerbaijani businessmen.
At present, 122 companies with the UAE capital operate in Azerbaijan.
