International Scientific and Practical Conference on 'Ways and measures to further diversify Uzbek economy and strengthen its competitiveness' will be held in Tashkent on December 20, the country's government circles told Trend on Thursday.
The event will be organized by the Senate (parliament) committees on the budget and economic reforms and on foreign policy, the Central Bank, the Banking and Finance Academy and Uzbekistan Association of Banks
The main purpose of the conference is to identify the most effective ways to diversify and strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy, to improve export capability, the formation of a modern market and financial infrastructure according to the highest international standards, to introduce effective market mechanisms, to ensure their effectiveness and to assess their applicability in Uzbekistan .
Along with representatives of government and parliament, business and financial circles of Uzbekistan, the conference will be attended by foreign financial institutions, organizations and companies accredited in Uzbekistan.
Apart from plenary sessions, the work of following sections will be organized within the conference: diversification and strengthening of the national economy's competitiveness as a basis for further development of the country's social and economic potential and the welfare of the population; creating a favorable business environment, a stable banking and financial system and modern market infrastructure as effective measures to diversify and strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy; the role and importance of small business and entrepreneurship in economic growth, further diversification and competitiveness of the economy; ways and measures of improving the legal framework to diversify the national economy, strengthen its competitiveness and to provide legal guarantees of freedom of entrepreneurship and to protect private property rights..
