Some CIS countries, such as Russia and Azerbaijan, have their own means, which should be directed to the development of own economy, General Secretary of the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe (BACEE) Istvan Lendyel told Trend.
"As for the cooperation between the CIS and the EU in the investment field, the opportunities in the eurozone today are limited, there are certain funds for cooperation with neighboring countries, but they will shrink. Now the EU budget is discussed, and it is one percent of member countries' GDP and will be reduced. Therefore CIS countries, which have their own means, should invest in own country as much as possible," Lendyel said.
He noted that it is necessary to use these funds, given both the opportunities and risks.
"I think, a science, culture, health and infrastructure projects are the priority areas for domestic investment in Azerbaijan," Lendyel said.
