Kazakhstan increases gold production in 2012

Kazakhstan increased gold production by 8.6 percent in January-December 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to Kazakh Statistics agency.

The country produced 40,006 tons of raw and semi-finished gold including gold powder in the reporting period.

Refined gold production increased by 26.9 percent to 21,154 tons within this period.

Silver production including raw, semi-finished silver and silver powder hit 963,137 tones in 2012 (48 percent increase). Refined silver production amounted to 958,479 tons (48.2 percent increase).

Refined raw, unalloyed copper production reached 367,177 tons in the reporting period (8.5 percent increase), raw zinc production remained at the level of 319,847 tons.
