Iran will facilitate conditions for Afghan stakeholders to invest in Iran, IRIB quoted head of the Organisation for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, Behrouz Alishiri, as saying.

The Islamic Republic of Iran will streamline investment procedure for everyone who seeks to invest in Iran's national economy, he added.

He made the remarks during a conference in Tehran to introduce investment opportunities in Iran to Afghan investors.

On December 1, 2012, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Afghanistan's newly-appointed Ambassador to Tehran Basir Ahmad Noor explored avenues for the further development of the two states mutual cooperation in a meeting in Tehran.

During the meeting, Salehi said the strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations between Iran and Afghanistan and implementing bilateral and multilateral trade and economic projects with the partnership and cooperation of other regional countries would be beneficial to the economic development, progress and stability as well as the security of the entire region.

Iran has built some roads, power transmission lines and border stations among other infrastructure projects which would better link the two nations.

Iran has also contributed more than $50 million annually to Afghan anti-narcotics efforts in the last eight years.
