Iran exported some 500 kilogrammes of caviar in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, ISNA quoted Issa Golshahi, an official with the Iranian Fishery Organisation, as saying.

Iranian caviar is mainly exported to Europe, U.S., Japan, and the UAE, he added.
He went on to say that caviar exports are projected to hit one million tons by the end of the current year and will be increased to two million tons in the next year.

In November 2012, the Mehr News Agency quoted Golshahi as saying that Iran has exported over $112 million worth of sea produce since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year.
