At a meeting with regional governors, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev pressed the new akim of Mangistau, Alik Aydarbaev to further act on important issues in the region such as the development of Aktau sea port, the presidential press service reported on Friday.
"In addition, the President drew attention to issues surrounding the region's drinking water and the creation of special economic zones in Aktau," the report says.
Following meetings held on Friday with leaders of other regions, the President of Kazakhstan gave specific instructions regarding employment and improving the welfare of the population in all regions of the country, and stressed the need for high-quality realization of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development.
