In May 2013 the European Bank on Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is starting official negotiations on the development of a new strategy for Azerbaijan, the head of the representative office of EBRD in Azerbaijan Neal McCain told Trend on Thursday
According to him, the new strategy of the bank will cover the term from December 2013 to December 2016.
"Today we, along with our partners from Azerbaijan, are preparing the draft document in London. Official consultations coordinated from Azerbaijani side by the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, are starting in May. The bank will also hold meetings with other ministries, as well as its partners and clients in the country," McCain said.
Until today EBRD has signed 135 investment agreements in different fields of the Azerbaijani economy at a cost of more than €1.52 billion. Making investments into renewable and power efficient sectors is the priority of EBRD in Azerbaijan. In 2012, EBRD approved 15 projects in Azerbaijan at a total cost of €81 million.
