Iranian president enforces $33 billion budget law for first quarter

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has enforced a law for allocating 410 trillion rials (about $33 billion) as the budget fund was announced for the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year which started on March 21, the Fars News Agency reported.

On March 13, the Iranian parliament (Majlis) approved a bill based upon which the administration will be allowed to receive and pay 410 trillion rials (about $33 billion) during the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year in accordance with the national budget bill.

The sum will be used by the administration to pay the salaries of civil servants as well as run current affairs of government organisations.

On February 27, the Iranian administration submitted the 7.300 trillion rials (about $595.4 billion) budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year.

The proposed budget has increased by 22 per cent compared to the previous year.
