Iranian imports from UK significantly rise

Exports of goods from the UK to Iran rose sharply in the past Iranian calendar year which ended on March 20, ISNA reported.

UK exported 646,000 tons of goods worth $377 million to Iran during the first 11 months of the past Iranian calendar year showing an 8.9 per cent and 178 per cent rise in weight and value respectively, according to Iranian Customs Administration data.

UK stands as the 21st major exporter to Iran and 10th among European countries.

Meanwhile, Iran exported 9095 tons of goods, worth $28.8 million, to the UK during the same period, showing an 0.86 per cent and 4.7 per cent fall compared to the same period in its preceding year.

Agricultural and pharmaceutical products were the main goods imported from the UK, whilst carpets, steel products and saffron were the main goods exported to UK.
