In January-February 2013, Azerbaijan imported about 894 lorries, or 21.2 percent less than the same period of 2012, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total cost of lorries imported into the country during this period amounted to $9.67 million, which is 63.9 percent more than in January-February 2012.
Last year, Azerbaijan imported 9,432 lorries, or 52.7 percent more than in 2011. Total cost of imported trucks is $213.4 million, or 45.6 percent more than in 2011.
Also, the country imported 209 units of buses in January-February 2013, or 12.2 percent less than in January-February 2012. The total cost of imported buses amounted to $9.82 million, or 26 percent less than the same period of last year.
In 2012, the country imported 1,038 units of busses, or 58.5 percent more that in 2011. The total cost of imported busses amounted to $ 49.88 million, exceeding the figure for 2011 by 88.1 percent.
