Kazakhstan plans production of 100 locomotives per year

‘Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’ national JSC will produce 100 locomotives annually by 2014, the company’s president Askar Mamin said at the meeting on the investment activity of JSC ‘Sovereign Welfare Fund ‘Samruk-Kazyna’’.

'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy' national JSC will produce 100 locomotives annually by 2014, the company's president Askar Mamin said at the meeting on the investment activity of JSC 'Sovereign Welfare Fund 'Samruk-Kazyna''.

According to Mamin, this year it is planned to produce 92 locomotives, which enjoy high demand not only in Kazakhstan but also in other countries.

"Today we have more than 150 memoranda for the purchase of our products. By 2014, we plan to produce 100 locomotives, it will be the ultimate production capacity," Mamin said.

He also noted that the production of electric locomotives, started last year, is planned to be brought to 150 units in 2013.
