President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Austrian company Strabag SE Thomas Birtel, Government of Turkmenistan announced on Saturday.
According to the announcement, the sides discussed the possibility of establishing a mutually beneficial partnership through participation in investment projects being realized in the country in such fields as construction and transport.
Strabag SE specializes in the construction of industrial, office and residential buildings, roads, tunnels, and other communications. Birtel expressed the interest of Austrian companies in strengthening the links on the perspective Turkmen market.
About two thousand large objects st the cost of nearly $ 40 billion are now being built in Turkmenistan at high pace. European business is represented here by French VINCI Construction and Bouygues companies; Turkish and Russian companies are also actively operating here.
In November 2012, Ashgabat hosted Turkmen-Austrian business forum which was attended by companies such as WOMA GmbH, Schoeller Bleckmann AG, Unger Stahlbau GmbH, Schrack Seconet AG, Oswelt GmbH, AME Interhational and Landhof and so on.
