Turkmenistan and Turkey study possibilities of bilateral trade growth

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcyklyoglu, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said on Monday.

According to a statement, during the meeting, the two parties discussed prospects for further cooperation in economy and trade.

"The Turkmen President and his guest focused their attention on the possible further growth of mutual trade and expanding and enhancing the links between the business structures of the two countries," the newspaper said.

Istanbul recently hosted the Investment Forum of Turkmenistan; furthermore Turkish products were exhibited in Ashgabat.

Turkish businessmen are involved in over 1,270 investment projects in Turkmenistan, of which, more than 1,200 projects are worth over $15 billion and 26 projects worth more than two billion Euros. There are 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat.

Ankara has expressed its interest in the delivery of Caspian energy to Europe via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Ashgabat is actively looking to attract Turkish companies for the construction of the Caspian resort "Avaza" as well as national transport infrastructure, industrial facilities and housing projects.
