The Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture considers it expedient to establish a specialised agricultural bank in the country, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abbasov told journalists on Wednesday.
"Today, a variety of banks and non-bank credit organisations give loans for agriculture," he said. "Moreover, the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Ministry of Economic Development delivers preferential loans for the development of the industry. However, it would be appropriate in the future to create a separate specialised agrarian bank."
He said this can be done by establishing a new bank, or transforming any of the existing ones.
