Azerbaijan is a major origin of money transfers to Georgia

The amount of money transferred to Georgia from abroad decreased by 1.7 percent in May 2013. The Georgian National Bank told Trend that around $114.7 million were transferred to Georgia through many money transfer systems in May 2013 or by $ 1.9 million less than in May 2012.

According to the report, Russia ($60.9 million) is the largest origin of funds, followed by Greece ($15.4 million), Italy ($8.9 million), the U.S. ($6.5 million), Turkey ($3.8 million), Ukraine ($2.9 million), Spain ($2 million), Israel ($1.8 million), Great Britain ($1.5 million), Germany ($1.4 million), Kazakhstan ($1.2 million) and Azerbaijan ($1.1 million).

Around $ 12.2 million were transferred abroad from Georgia in May 2013 compared to $9 million in May 2012.
