As of April 1, 2012 the number of civil servants receiving retirement pensions in Azerbaijan amounted 12,003 people, 65.3 percent of whom receive old-age pensions, 24 percent are given disability pensions and 10.7 percent receive loss of breadwinner pension, Azerbaijan State Social Protection Fund's report published on June 21 said.
On June 23, Azerbaijan marked the professional holiday of civil servants. This holiday was established by order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated May 25, 2006.
Civil servants have various benefits in many areas, including in the field of pension provision. Pensions are granted at higher amounts, and each time the size of pension is adjusted in accordance with the actual job salaries of civil servants. Today, the average monthly pension of civil servants is 342.3 manats.
It should be noted that, as for April 1, 2013 the number of people receiving retirement pensions in Azerbaijan amounted to 1,271,526 persons.
