Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 June / Trend E. Aliyev /

Investment agencies of member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) signed a memorandum of understanding in Istanbul, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economic Development reported on Saturday.

From the Azerbaijani side, the document was signed by the head of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov.

The MOU was signed following the third meeting of economy ministers of the CCTS member countries in Istanbul.

In his speech at the meeting, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev noted that the country attaches great importance to developing ties with the Turkic states, adding that President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly emphasized it during the CCTS summits.

According to Mustafayev, the policy pursued by the head of state supports trade, investment cooperation and development of relations among the entrepreneurs of Turkic-speaking countries.

It was noted that a steady growth has been observed in the member states of the Council in spite of global crisis processes.

According to the Minister, deliberate social and economic policy of Azerbaijan has resulted in macroeconomic stability, stable and sustainable development as well as establishment of comfortable business and investment climate.

Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mustafayev said that the occupation policy of Armenia is the single largest obstacle to the development of regional cooperation.
