Tajikistan drastically increased gold and silver production in the first half of 2013, Avesta.Tj reported with the reference to First Deputy Energy and Industry Minister Pulod Muhiddinov.
The country produced over 993.6 kilograms of gold in the reporting period compared to 859 kilograms in the same period of 2012.
According to Muhiddinov, the increase in gold production resulted from production buildup in such gold mines as Zarafshon, Aprelevka, Odina, etc.
Silver production in Tajikistan increased by 39.6 kilograms to 855.5 kilograms in the first half of 2013.
Muhiddinov stressed that the gold production target for 2013 remained at 3 tons and silver production target - at 2 tons.
