Iran registers world’s highest inflation rate in 2012

The latest report released by World Economic Forum suggests that Iran registered the highest rate of inflation in the world in 2012.

Iran's inflation was 30.6 percent in 2012, the ISNA News Agency reported.

The list includes 148 countries.

Iran, Ethiopia, Malawi, Venezuela, Tanzania, Guinea, Mongolia, Uganda, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria were the world's leading countries in terms of high inflation in 2012.

Georgia, Switzerland, Japan, Brunei Darussalam, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Sweden, Greece, and New Zealand also experienced the world's lowest inflation rate previous year.

The inflation rate of Georgia and Switzerland was even negative. Japan also faced a zero percent inflation rate in 2012.
