Over 190 Russian enterprises registered in Turkmenistan

In total, over 190 enterprises backed by Russian capital implementing over 240 investment projects, were registered in Turkmenistan, the state news service Turkmen dovlet khabarlary said on Friday.

The information came from the Turkmen-Russian economic forum recently held in Belgorod.

'"Russian companies have actively participated in the implementation of projects in various spheres of Turkmenistan's economy for many years. Traditional partners are Vozrozhdenie (Revival), KAMAZ, Itera and Zarubezhneft companies, Siberia airlines and others', the information said.

Turkmenistan's delegation consisting of the Ministers of Industry, heads of Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs attended the Belgorod forum.

During the event, potential investors presented their proposals on cooperation in joint projects in various spheres such as agriculture, the food and processing industry, construction and transport.

Russia is Turkmenistan's largest trading partner. In recent years, cooperation has intensified with major regions of the Russian Federation, including Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as other parts of the Russian Federation.

It was reported in March 2013 that Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time.

Dates of the visit are being agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
