Azerbaijan, Baku, October 4 /Trend, E.Aliyev/

The Hungarian embassy in Azerbaijan will speed up the process of issuing visas, the consul of this country to Azerbaijan, Deputy Head of the diplomatic mission Erika Tot told Trend on Friday.

"We have sent relevant requests about the enlargement of the embassy's staff, as well as the number of "Schengen windows" through which the acceptance of requests from those who wish to visit our country, as well as the issuing of visas is carried out," she said.

According to her, the embassy didn't expect such interest in Hungary by the Azerbaijani tourists.

"Currently there is only one "Schengen window" and it can not cope with the large influx of visitors. As a result, people have to stand in queues, delays occur. Unfortunately, the process of issuing visas is a process that takes time; the scanning of the required documents and other procedures take time. I hope that next summer the number of "Schengen windows" will be increased, and the Azerbaijani tourists will be able to quickly apply for and obtain a visa, " the consul said.

According to him, the number of visas issued by the embassy amounted to 2,602 units in January-September 2013, which exceeds the figure for the whole 2012 by 2.5 times. By comparison, the diplomatic mission issued some 1,036 visas to Azerbaijani citizens in 2012.
