Expansion of business access to finance – a priority for Azerbaijan’s state policy

The increasing access of small and medium entrepreneurship to finances including the preparation of proposals to form a credit insurance mechanism is one of the priorities of Azerbaijan’s state policy to support entrepreneurs.

The increasing access of small and medium entrepreneurship to finances including the preparation of proposals to form a credit insurance mechanism is one of the priorities of Azerbaijan's state policy to support entrepreneurs, the socio-economic concept for 2014-2017 said.

In addition, the priorities are to improve the effectiveness of state regulation of the economy and the continuing work on the improvement of the legal framework governing entrepreneurial activity.

Improving the financial support of entrepreneurship, particularly regional entrepreneurship and the creation of an environment alongside and targeting public financing necessary for the activation of alternative financial sources are also a priority.
'The list of priorities also includes the expansion of access to long term loans for forming initial capital and financing of investments. In order to use the country's export potential effectively, it is necessary to produce products in export oriented spheres, its delivery to world markets and increasing the competitiveness and fulfilment of measures to increase the positions of national producers in foreign markets and protection of their interests', the concept said.

It is planned to allocate at least 250 million manat in 2014, the same as in 2013 for preferential financing of investment projects of entrepreneurship subjects.
