Consumer inflation in Azerbaijan exceeds monetary one for growth rates

In September 2013, the prices of consumer goods and tariffs for services in Azerbaijan increased by 0.1 per cent compared to the previous month, and in January-September 2013, the country's inflation amounted to 2.3 per cent at an annual rate, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report for nine months said.

According to the report, food prices in Azerbaijan rose in September by 0.1 per cent, and prices of non-food products increased by 0.2 per cent. Tariffs for paid services rendered to the population remained unchanged.

In comparison with January-September 2012, food prices during the reporting period of 2013 rose by 2.2 per cent, non-food products - by 0.5 per cent, and prices of services increased by 3.4 per cent.

In September, the base index of consumer prices, calculated for deduction of goods and services subjected to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables), the prices of which are regulated by the state, increased by 0.3 per cent compared with the previous month, and by 0.6 per cent for the nine months compared to January- September of 2012.
