Samsung shares 32.4 percent of Iran’s TV market

Samsung has shared 32.4 percent of Iran's television market, during the 6th Iranian calendar month (August 23- September 22), Iranian Donya-e-eqtesad newspaper reported.
The figure stood at 31.5 percent during the same month of the last solar year.
LG stood at the second place, with a share of 25.3 percent.
The company's share from Iran's television market during the 6th month of the last solar year (ended on March 21) was 26.5 percent.
Sony televisions stood at third place in Iran's market. The share of the company from sells stood at 22.5 percent during the 6th Iranian month, while the figure was 22.9 percent during the same month of the preceding year.
The share of X.vision television brand from Iran's market stood at 9 percent which indicates an increase by 5 percent compared to the same month of the last solar year.
In 2010, some media outlets informed that LG and Samsung companies shut down their agencies in Iran, while Iranian officials dismissed the reports.
"Iranian market is so attractive and great that no country is willing to lose it," Secretary of Iranian association of audio and video appliances producers, Mohammad Reza Shahidi
said, adding that "LG and Samsung firms have concluded long-tem deals with Iranian side and have not closed their offices in Iran at all."
