Georgia's state budget for 2014 is set at 9.14 billion laris ($1 = 1.68 lari).
Finance Minister of Georgia Nodar Khaduri said after a meeting on Nov. 29 that the government has already considered the draft budget and it will be forwarded to the parliament's consideration.
According to the minister, the economy's growth is budgeted at five per cent. Budget deficit stands at 3.9 per cent and the deflation is set at 3.5 per cent.
"The nominal volume of gross domestic product (GDP) is budgeted at 29,342 million laris and revenues in the consolidated budget are planned at 7,230 million laris," the minister said.
Khaduri went on to add that, health care expenditures were also increased.
"Alongside with this, the allowances for refugees will be raised to 45 laris in March. Funding of Education Ministry will be increased by 80 million laris," the minister said.
Khaduri also said that some 43 million laris will be directed to financing of science in Georgia, whereas in 2012 some 18 million laris were allocated for this purpose.
