Azerbaijan and Iraq will discuss the prospects of concluding an agreement on mutual protection of investments

Azerbaijan and Iraq will discuss the prospects of concluding an agreement on mutual protection of investments, a protocol on cooperation signed following the first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, technological, education and agricultural cooperation in Baku on Dec.4, said.
Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov and Iraqi Minister of Provinces, acting Minister of Communications Torhan Al-Mufti signed the protocol.
"The parties agreed to discuss the draft agreement through diplomatic channels," the protocol said.
In addition, they also agreed to exchange information on promoting mutual investments, holding related activities in Azerbaijan and Iraq and joint participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries in business forums, exhibitions and other specialised meetings aimed at enhancing trade and business relations.

The first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, technological, education and agricultural cooperation was held in Baku yesterday.
The next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will be held in Iraq.
