Azerbaijani bank reserves rise by over quarter

The monetary base in Azerbaijan showed a steady rise in January-October 2013 and as of November 1, the expanded monetary base amounted to 10823.2 million manat in the country, according to a statistical report posted on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to the data provided by the bank, the monetary base increased by 15.6 per cent, compared to 9365.1 million manat during ten months of 2012.

According to the bank, the monetary base amounted to 10732.2 million manat by November 1, 2013, compared to 9291.3 million manat by November 1, 2012.

The volume of money in circulation amounted to 10216.5 million manat during the reported period, compared to 8887.5 million manat for November 1, 2012.

For its part, bank reserves amounted to 582 million manat, which is 26.85 per cent more than in October, 2012 (458.8 million manat).

The ratio of cash weight in circulation to the monetary base amounted to 94.4 per cent for November 1, 2013, compared to 94.9 per cent for November 1, 2012.

The official exchange rate for December 12 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
