Kazchrome intends to produce over 1.3 million tons of ferroalloys in 2013

JSC Kazchrome Transnational Company (located in Aktobe oblast of Kazakhstan) intends to produce 1.349 million tons of ferroalloys at the end of 2013, press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies told Trend.

The ministry said that according to the business plan, in 2013 the ferroalloy production stood at 1,349 million tons, salable chrome ore - at 3,681 million tons, and manganese concentrate - at 352,000 tons.

JSC Kazchrome Transnational Company was founded in 1995. The company includes four divisions: Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant, "Kazmarganets" ore management, Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant, Aksu Ferroalloy Plant.

The company's main products include ferroalloys, chrome ore, concentrates, pellet, manganese concentrate. Products are exported to China, Japan, EU, the U.S., Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan.

The company's sales in 2012 included 1,311,900 tons of ferroalloys and 881,600 tons of chrome ore.

Production volumes in 2012 included 1,458 million tons of ferroalloys, 3,593 million tons of saleable chrome ore and 374,000 tons of manganese concentrate.

Currently a new ferroalloy plant of the JSC Kazchrome Transnational Company is being constructed. The project is implemented as part of the State Program for Accelerated Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan. Total cost of construction of the new plant totals 111 billion tenges (153.72 tenge=1 dollar), and its power will stand at 440,000 of tons of ferrochrome per year.

The 72 megawatts direct-current ovens and electrical equipment and innovative automation systems will be installed at the entire complex. In addition, the electricity will be generated by means of utilizing ferroalloy gas.
