Kazakhstan decreased steel production in January-December 2013 by 7.9 percent to 3.477 million tons

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan decreased steel production in January-December 2013 by 7.9 percent to 3.477 million tons, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency.

Ferroalloys production decreased by 1 percent to 1.708 million tons, flat rolled steel production fell 5.2 percent to 2.227 million tons, galvanized steel production increased 10.7 percent to 513,700 tons in 2013.

Kazakhstan's tin and tinned steel sheet production fell 46.6 percent to 85,800 tons in the reporting period.

Iron ore decreased 1.6 percent to 51.759 million tons. Copper ore production increased 7.3 percent to 41.732 million tons, copper and zinc ores production increased 1.7 percent to 4.910 million tons, lead and zinc ores production decreased 5.8 percent to 7.256 million tons.
