The Azerbaijani metallurgical industry produced products and rendered services worth 400.7 million manat in 2013, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.
The production volume in the metallurgical industry increased 1.5 percent, whilst finished metal products during this period decreased by 46.8 percent per year, according to the report.
As of 2013, the cast iron production in the country was 1900 tons which is 49.7 percent more than in 2012. Around 377,700 tons of aluminium casting, wires and fittings were produced in 2013, an increase of 2.3 times. Some 8000 tons of black metal structure were produced which is 1.9 times more than in 2012. The reinforcement production volume in the country dropped 4.1 percent to 234,800 tons.
The volume of exports of ferrous metal pipes hit 49,100 tons to the amount of over $47.5 million in January-November 2013 which is 10.4 percent or in monetary terms by 8.3 percent, more compared than the same period of 2012.
The volume of exports of semi-finished ferrous metal products totalled 81,000 tons reaching more than $39.6 million which is 26.3 percent in monetary terms, or by 31.9 percent less compared to the same index of 2012.
The official exchange rate is 0.7843 AZN/USD on Jan. 24.
