Navoiazot, the largest chemical plant in Uzbekistan will announce a repeated tender for the construction of an ammonia production complex in the first half of 2014, a representative of Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company (Uzbek Chemistry Industry) told Trend on Feb. 3.

The tender, announced in May 2013, was announced as invalid, the representative said. The representative has not given the reason.

It was earlier reported that the winner of the tender worth $ 800 million was to construct a complex for producing 900,000 tons of ammonia and one million tons of carbamide on a turnkey basis until 2017.

The tender results were planned to be summarized in September, but then it was extended until the end of 2013.

The project worth $ 980 million is planned to be financed with foreign loans and funds of the Uzbek side.

Navoiazot (former Navoi Chemical Plant) is the largest chemical company in Uzbekistan. It was commissioned in 1964. The plant specializes in the production of nitrogen fertilizers, nitronic fiber, as well as integrated production of organic synthesis.

Carbamide production decreased by 6.5 percent to 480,200 tons in Uzbekistan in 2013, according to the official statistics.
