Iran’s LPG exports drop 12 percent

Iran's LPG exports including liquefied propane and butane have decreased by 12.22 percent during the first 10 months of the current solar year (started on March 21, 2013), compared to the same period of the last solar year.

According to the latest monthly report of the Iranian customs administration (IRICA), released on Jan. 29, Iran has exported some 910,000 tons of liquefied butane worth $795.9 million during first 10 months of the current solar year. This indicates a fall of 5.08 percent in terms of volume and 1.1 percent in terms of value respectively compared to the exports of 958,700 tons of liquefied butane worth $804.7 million during the same period of the last solar year.

Iran has exported 1.113 million tons of liquefied propane worth $973 million during the first 10 months of the current solar year which indicates a decrease of 17.32 percent in weight and 7.67 percent in value respectively compared to the same period of the last solar year.

Iran exported 1.346 million tons of liquefied propane worth $1054 million during first 10 months of the preceding year.

The country exported 1.428 million tons of liquefied propane worth $1.134 billion during last solar year (ended on March 21, 2013), while its liquefied butane exports stood at 1.026 million tons worth $866 million in the same period.

Iran exported $3.400 billion LPG during the solar year which ended on March 20, 2012.

Meanwhile, these products are not exactly on the list of western sanctions against Iran. After imposing last year's sanctions, the country's LPG exports decreased sharply and even stopped for a period.

Iran was exporting 80 percent of the LPG to South Korea .
