The World Bank plans to allocate $22 million to the reformation of the agricultural sector of Tajikistan, Avesta.tj reported on Feb. 18.
This issue is expected to be discussed by the WB's board of directors in June this year.
The major directions of the project are the support for local farmers, commercialization of agriculture and agribusiness in the republic.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the farmers' ability to adapt to market mechanisms.
The project foresees the allocation of grants and credits as well as consulting assistance to local entrepreneurs.
